We have an animal that looks like a Leopard, yet comes with coat variations of black and brown.??
Or has the speed of a Cheetah...yet looks like a Leopard.
Or looks like a Leopard and screams like a cougar.!!
Historical reports from Western Australia of big cats are great because of the depth of the reporting."At least three Agriculture protection board officers independently filed reports that they believed a large mytsery predator was responsible for hundreds of stock killings of south Western farms."
Now the date was 16th of August 1981.
But their investigations were hamstrung because senior APB officers publicly rejected farmers claims that cougar like cats were living and breeding in the local bush.
These disclosures are made in a startling old book which revealed for the first time, the full extent of evidence backing a widespread belief that big cats are at large over thousands of square kilometres of this country.
The book was called Savage Shadow by the deceased writer David o`Reilly.
O`Reilly said the authorities also totally disregarded farmers warnings that a mysterious predator was damaging bush fauna-despite government surveys which revealed strangely declining numbers of at least two native animals.
Are the many reports of large cats in Australia related to descendents of thylalcoleo carnifex the supposedly extinct marsupial killer of Australia.?
Just came off the phone talking to farmers in Western Australia. The number of reports of large black and brown cats running together is increasing.
So what the hell is that.
Is that Pumas and Leopards running together, monster feral cats..something native and "undiscovered".
The whole thing is mental.
On my way home from my evening shift as a waitress last winter07, july or august, around 10:30pm it was very cold and as were up so high we were in clouds a lot of people think its fog, just before i was to turn in my street the cloud cleared a little and i noticed it was a full moon and i also saw on my right hand side something on the side of the road, slowing down while thinking out loud what the heck is that? i can only describe what i believe to be a black panther eating something, as i came closer and to a full stop, about 5 metes away to my right was the biggest cat i have ever seen, it was a blue black glossy colour with a very long tail, it got up never looked my way and glided down into the embankment, the body was about as high as my car door where you rest your arm when the windows down, its tail was fairly straight behind its body and about as long as the length of its body and quite thick to the tip, even though i never saw its face, iknow it wasn't a dog ,even though size wise it was closest to a labrador, but it moved just like a cat and looked so healthy. while this happened all so quickly and i was stunned to see this, i keep asking myself, how can it be a panther? iknow what i saw but how and where would it come from?
i got home and said to my partner you'll probably think im crazy but i just saw a panther!
i didn't ask any one at work for a while [fear of being branded a nutter] so i just enquired if anyone has ever seen a big!!!! cat up here and apparently there has been a sighting but i don't know how long ago?
i should have told the parks rangers as it went into the national park, i have kept it to myself except for now, but for the same fears.
i can accept that a cat may have escaped from a circus and it could quite happily live on road kill of which we have a lot up here or the pademelons, koalas, kangaroos etc, but why wouldn't someone or dog been attacked and surely if i saw it so randomly why haven't others?
i just wish i had a camera at the time, anyway what do yot think?
